The role of Assistant regional Commissioner (Development) for the South West Region is currently held by Craig Peacock.
The role of ARC Development is a key role, the responsibility of which is to ensure the Region and the Districts within the region continue to improve and grow. This is achieved by creating development plans aimed at key areas of improvement and then by the enactment of these plans.
The current plan in place aims to increase the number of volunteers within the Region, at the same time improving the training and communications throughout the Region to make sure everyone can achieve their potential.
Of course the plan also aims to increase the number of young people in the movement, as well as helping maintain existing groups and helping groups expand to all sections of the Scouting movement. Part of the plan is then dedicated to giving these young people a voice in how they would like Scouting to continue and what they would like to get out of the movement.
The development plan will be carried out over the next year, working in partnership with Scouting both locally and nationally to help Scouting grow and improve.
Our first development weekend was held in January 2018 photos from the event can be found in our gallery.
