International

Much can be gained from taking part in Scouting within the UK, however experience of the world out with our borders can be a fantastic experience for any young person to undertake.

The role of Regional Adviser (International) is currently vacant.

The role of the Regional Advisor (International) is to help in the realization of these opportunities. This is achieved by helping groups organize trip around the world as well as the possibility to run Regional trips.

Scouting has many opportunities for International engagement within its programme, such as explorer belt expeditions and world jamborees, the role of the regional advisor is to help advertise these events as well as giving groups ideas and the expertise to make their own ideas reality.

During planning the advisor also helps to make sure the groups and leaders are fully prepared for the trip, so that everyone can enjoy the experience to its fullest.

EXPLORER BELT 2021

The Region are looking at running another Explorer Belt in 2021 which following the success of this year will again be held in Romania.

WHAT IS AN EXPLORER BELT?

The Explorer Belt is a challenge of a lifetime.

It is a chance to take part in a ten day expedition that brings you a real understanding of a different country, its culture and way of life.

You will develop this understanding by travelling through the chosen country, working as part of a small team to complete a series of projects and most importantly by meeting local people.

It is an experience and an achievement that you will remember for the rest of your life.

The Explorer Belt is not the same as a Queen’s Scout Award / Duke of Edinburgh Expedition. You are not required to be self sufficient or walk set distances – the Explorer Belt is your chance to EXPLORE Romania.

MEMBERSHIP

Be an Explorer Scout aged 16+ or a Scout Network member.

COST

The cost for the Explorer Belt will be in the region of £1000 but this will be confirmed before final sign up is required.
