Galloway

Shorefield is Galloway District’s new campsite, located next to the sea some 3 miles from the A75 near Gatehouse of Fleet. Map reference NX 578 514.

The main access to the site is from the car park along a short track & path which opens out to a well-drained field in excess of 1.25 acres with mains water supply and portable toilets.

There is plenty of space for patrol style camping and activities with access to 3 sandy beaches and a massive 2.25 kilometres of foreshore.

The site is open from 1st May to 31st October at a cost of £2 per head per night.

This is a great area for hiking and adventurous activities with hills all around and 290 sq. miles of forest park.

Pioneering poles and rope can be supplied, and equipment hire arranged. Within a few miles Lagganoutdoor and Galloway Activity Centre can be accessed, both offering a host of adventurous activities.

Dumfriessshire

Boreland Campsite at St. Ann’s near Beattock has 3.5 acres which is ideal for camping. The Campsite is located at grid Reference NY 066 957

A timber built hut (15 metres by 5 metres has two toilets, a kitchen for food storage / preparation and a sink with running water.

Electric power is provided by a diesel generator.

The main hall is suitable for dining or wet weather activities or as a meeting room.

The site also has a small camp fire circle beside the Kinnel Water.

It is suitable for special needs groups.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
